What causes diabetes?
As you consume carbohydrates you excrete Insulin. Insulin production inhibits fat burning. It actually stops your body from using your own fat as fuel, AND it deposits all the calories you consumed from the excess carbohydrates ( glucose) into your fat cells. Due to our high carbohydrate ( sugar ) diet we are producing very high levels of insulin to help the body remove the large amounts of sugar ( glucose ) out of our blood. This can lead to insulin resistance regardless of age, size and ethnicity, resulting in an inability to use glucose ( from Carbohydrates ) as an energy source and instead storing it almost immediately as fat. It doesn’t stop here. Eventually the Pancreas starts to fail in its production of Insulin and can’t make enough to get rid of the glucose in the blood. It’s at this point that we become Type 2 Diabetic. This modern day disease is a choice.
How do I control my Diabetes ( Type 1 or Type 2 )?
If you reduce your carbohydrate consumption you have a very high chance of getting your blood sugar levels to a healthy / safe level without the use of medications ( type 2 diabetics ).
We have also had success with Type 1 Diabetics with a significant reduction in insulin shots required through the day. This in turn results in better weight control as insulin is a fat burning inhibitor.
